Best Album of 2010

Someone I met in Ireland added me as a friend on Facebook this evening and the memories of my trip to Mallow in August 2010 (some pictures) came back.  What a great trip with lasting memories.  Although our group had numerous, wonderful experiences with the people and the church with whom we ministered, I also had a chance to listen to some music.  Anytime I embark on a journey, whether long or short, I download new music.  One of the CD’s I downloaded was Hillsong Live‘s 2010 release, A Beautiful Exchange (iTunes link).  If you enjoy worship music, this is a MUST HAVE.  My favorite song on the album is Forever Reign (live).  I especially love the chorus in this song:

Oh, I’m running to Your arms,
I’m running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

The title song, A Beautiful Exchange, also has some incredible lyrics:

Trading your life
For my offenses
For my redemption
You carried all the blame

Breaking the curse
Of our condition
Perfection took our place

This album never gets old.  If you received an iTunes gift card for Christmas, you need to get this album.  I believe it will become your favorite.  A Beautiful Exchange by Hillsong Live is my pick for Best Album of 2010.

What was your favorite album of 2010?

I haven’t heard the Hillsong album yet, but my favorite album of 2010 has to be Newsboys Born Again. The album is wildly entertaining but there are also some amazing praise songs on the Deluxe Edition that have become some of my favorite songs all-time. The song We Remember is worth the price of the album alone!

Still, I’ll be sure to check out the Hillsong album too.

There’s a deluxe edition?? I’m going to look for it now!

Tom, the album that came out of nowhere for me was by Sent by Ravens – Our Graceful Words. Typically Tooth and Nail bands are kind of high on style but not too deep on substance.. But this band is amazing. Check out “Salt and Light.” One line in that song grabbed me and would NOT let me go.

“I came here with nothing, God – but I left with everything” WOW
    My life in a nutshell.
And a line that ROCKS from “Philadelphia”: “Brother you must find which way to go – and with grace BE BOLD!!!!”
Wow I forgot how awesome this album is. Now I need to go to bed.

Tom, the pix of Ireland were awesome. You are so talented in photography. I will be contacting you when we start putting together our brochures for Ireland. I would love to use some of your photos.
