Mark Batterson, best-selling author of Wild Goose Chase and In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, takes his readers on “a quest for the lost soul of Christianity” in his latest book, Primal. Although many may expect this book to introduce something new, it is actually a call for this generation to return to Christianity in its rawest form – loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. According to Batterson, “Christianity has a perception problem. At the heart of the problem is the simple fact that Christians are more known for what we’re against than what we’re for.” Although Batterson is certainly not endorsing a Christianity free from truth and righteousness, he challenges every follower of Christ to “be astonished again” by introducing them to four elements of the Great Commandment: compassion, wonder, curiosity, and power.

Primal is immediately engaging and challenging to the reader in many basic but defining areas of life. Because of the simplicity and urgency of the message, Primal should be at the top of your reading list for 2010.

You can order Primal by clicking here.
