This past week I posted the following words in my Facebook status: “If you have something that you’d like me to pray about, leave a comment or message me!” I was surprised by the amount of people who either left a comment or sent me a message regarding some need in their life or the life of someone else. After praying for the requests, I was inspired to pray more for people I am connected with through social networking, even if I don’t know them well or have regular connections with them. I think we all need to pray more and do a better job of upholding others during their time of need, so I thought I’d try to provide a forum for all of us to pray and be prayed for.
So today is the trial run of the Prayer Wall. Here is how it will work (I’m keeping it simple because I am stupid). Simply write out your request by leaving a comment on this post and then pray for the person who left a comment above your comment. The very first person to leave a comment on the post can pray for my request, which I will write in the post each time we do this.
The only rule is that you should not use a person’s last name or purposely attack someone’s character under the guise of “sharing a prayer request.”
That’s it.
So, here we go. I’ll start.
There are three seemingly impossible situations in my life right now and I am praying that God will move mightily on my behalf. Two of these situations are related to the church where I am the Campus Pastor and the other one is personal.
PS You can help spread the word about the Prayer Wall by sharing a link to this blog post through social networking outlets such as Facebook or Twitter. I have provided a convenient sharing option in the black drop-down box which should appear at the top of this post.
