Several months ago, the pump on a bottle of my wife’s favorite body spray from Bath&Body Works stopped functioning. I quickly exercised my creative skills by pouring the fruity-smelling liquid into an empty hairspray bottle and then attaching the body spray sticker to the hairspray bottle. The sticker would distinguish this bottle from another one which contained hairspray. Sounds smart, right? I thought so until yesterday morning when I was getting ready for church. Although I was not in a rush, I grabbed a hairspray bottle and began spritzing away, but I soon realized I was simply moistening my hair with body spray…non-manly, fruity smelling spray. The sticker idea failed. There was no time to re-wash my hair, so I made the decision to just go with it. If someone at church commented that I smelled fruity, oh well.
I’ve learned the value of laughing at myself and allowing others to do the same. I do lots of stupid things. You can read about them here and here and here. If you have LOTS of free time, you can read the volumes of stupid things I’ve done. You will probably feel better about yourself.
Everyone does stupid things, including you. Instead of trying to cover up all the stupid things you’ve done, laugh at yourself; in fact, leave a comment so I can laugh at your expense. It will make me feel better on this Monday.
