Give This a Chance

We have a closet at the end of our hallway which houses all the geeky stuff in our house.  Old computers, ancient software, and outdated electronics clutter the shelves.  When an item is placed into this storage area there is a good chance it will never make it out.  A couple years ago our elderly desktop computer made its way into the grave of tech.  The Geek Squad at Best Buy compassionately broke the news to me that she had breathed her last, so I carved out a space in the closet to store all 150 pounds.  It was a sad day…for a geek.

A couple months ago a friend of mine mentioned that he knew a person who was very talented at fixing computers.  My mind immediately thought about that poor, dusty computer that the Geek Squad had condemned to electronic hell.  I exhumed the computer and hired a crane to drop it off at the computer fix it guy’s house and he said he’d call me soon with the diagnosis.  A few days later I received a call and I braced for the news.  ”It’s just the power supply.  I ordered the part and it will be ready for you at the end of the week,” he said.  Saying that I was excited was an understatement.  Giving the computer a second chance at life paid off.

Is there something in your life that deserves a second chance?

The idea that failed the first time may deserved a fresh chance.

That failed relationship may work out the second time around.

Another day of prayer may bring that answer.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
